MSVCRTD.DLL is the debug version of MSVCRT.DLL (without the trailing
"D"). While the release version (MSVCRT.DLL) is shipped with every
windows system, the debug version (MSVCRTD.DLL) is only installed
with Microsoft Visual C++ (or Microsoft Visual Studio).
As for the example programs: these shouldn't be compiled as debug
versions, because only few people will have the debug libraries
installed... Better link against the release libraries...
I don't know if you can download the debug libraries from microsoft,
but you could search the net for MSVCRT.DLL and try to download one
that fits you windows version. You might want to try ftp-search:
http://ftpsearch.lycos.com
If you download it, just put it into the same directory with the
example program (not your windows directory), that should work, too,
and then you don't have some dubious libraries wasting around your
windows directory...
