Hi.
I didn't try the ARToolkit under Windows 2000 (we use Linux),
though the first two DLLs you mention seem to be debug libraries,
which are usually only installed by Visual Studio or Visual C++.
I guess the demo programs should really be compiled as "Release"
versions, not "Debug" versions, because users that don't have
Visual Studio installed, will usually not have these libs.
Unfortunately, it seems as if Microsoft doesn't provide these
libs for download... You might try to download the Visual Studio
Service Pack. I guess that most debug DLLs would be in the
service pack, but i haven't tried this. The service pack is
quite large (ca. 100 MB), so if you don't have a quick connection,
I don't know if it is worth the try...
Are you sure that the last library (MFC42.DLL) doesn't have a
"d" in it's name (MFC42D.DLL)? Those that end with a "d" are
usually the debug libraries. MFC42.DLL should actually be on
your system, because it's the Microsoft Foundation Class library,
which is used by nearly all applications that are made with
Visual Studio...
By the way, Windows 98 doesn't have the libraries, too.
If you want to develop an ARToolkit application, then installing
Visual C++ or Visual Studio will usually also install those
debug libraries...
Maybe the developers working on the MS-Windows version of the
ARToolkit could re-build the demos as "Release" versions and
put those up for download? (Release versions don't need those
debug libraries to run...)
Well, one last hint: Maybe you can search the web for those
DLLs (try http://ftpsearch.lycos.com for example), I don't
know if these libs differ from one Windows version to another.
If you download them, you'd better put them into the directory
of the application, not you windows system directory, just in
case they don't work...
Hope I could shed a little light on this, it seems to be quite
a common problem actually...
Robert.
