Hello,
When the camera is pointed straight at the marker, the artoolkit orients
the vrml model at an incorrect angle, perhaps around 15 degrees off from
center. As we slowly move the camera from side to side, always pointing
directly at the pattern, the model stays incorrectly oriented off to one
side - until we move far enough (seeming to cross some angle threshold)
and the model snaps to the correct orientation. I find this difficult to
explain! Please take a look at the two attached JPG's. They show a cube
that is incorrectly angled off to one side, and then off to the other,
although the camera is in almost exactly the same position.
We are running the simpleVRML example in the 2.52 DirectX download for windows.
Is this related to an inherent dificulty in this sort of pattern tracking?
Did you put in some special code that modifies the orientation of the model
in this special case where the camera orientated directly in front of it?
And most importantly, is there something we can do about it, or should we
simply try to avoid this "special case"?
Thanks, Topher Zimmermann and Kerstin Mueller
