Optical HMD question

Perhaps somebody can help with a question. I have downloaded ARToolkit
version 2.52 DirectShow / Windows. I am hoping to get it working with
a monocular optical see-thru HMD (MicroVision Nomad).  My questions are
as follows:

1) Does ARToolkit support monocular HMDs? If so, how might I setup
and calibrate with ARToolkit?

2) The documentation and sample code for version 2.11 differs a bit
from 2.52 with respect to HMD usage. The samples in 2.52 seem to omit
some of the HMD specific code found in 2.11. Does 2.52 still support 
HMDs?  Should I revert to 2.11 for HMD / optical capability?
