Hi,
I am not a DirectShow expert (some people in this mailing-list seem to be, though) but I have already tried to create a DirectShow filter and this is definitely no easy task to do! However, since there is a ProxyTrans 'Template' Filter in OpenCV, allowing you to put any kind of transformation in a filter. I don't know if there are going to be issues with the fact that the ARToolKit is using 'extern' global variables and plain C code... It would be interesting to wrap up ARToolKit in a filter and use it as a component of a graph. Can anyone give a try at this? Or should we post this message to the OpenCV forum?
Regards,
Fivos

Hi All, I'm a newbuy, I've started very few months ago looking at ARToolkit and I know only a little of c++, so I'm not too conscious about what I'm speaking of. I've read mail of people asking how to use avi or still images with AR, other speaking about using some openCV functions, other on how to use this or that kind of usb or firewire camera. What I would like to know is if you think it is possible to transform artoolkit in a directShow .ax filter. This would allow users to create the graph they prefer, with every camera, every input and output device present in the system, to add opencv filter, like camera calibrations or a tracker, to easy set input and output resolutions and so on. I don't know if it's possible to do that, but I think this could be useful. Thank you for your attention, have a nice day
Luca
