Hm, first thing that pops into my mind is the scale and/or rotation of the
vrml-object... Is it located in the origin before you export from 3DSMax?
Scale? Just try to rescale the object in ARToolkit to see:
...
glScalef(100,100,100); // || glScalef(0.01,0.01,0.01);
arVrml97Draw( vrml_id );
If there is no other error perhaps your object is just out ouf your screen
because of some wrong xyz-offsets...
Perhaps you already took care of this issue but I couldn't know. ;-)
