The goal of the MUM2005 conference is to provide an international forum
for presenting recent=20
research results on mobile and ubiquitous multimedia, and to bring
together experts from both=20
academia and industry for an exchange of ideas and discussion on future
challenges. The=20
program includes keynote presentations and tutorials by leading experts
and contributed papers=20
describing recent progress in mobile and ubiquitous multimedia. The
papers presented in the=20
conference will be published in the conference proceedings, and the best
papers will be=20
considered for a special issue of the journal of Pervasive and
Ubiquitous Computing.
MUM 2005 will be held in conjunction with ICAT 2005 which is also being
held in Christchurch=20
during the first part of the week. ICAT 2005 is the International
Conference on Augmented Tele-
existence and is a premiere conference on Augmented Reality, Virtual
Reality, Robotics and=20

MUM 2005 will be two days of technical papers, and one day of tutorials
and workshops.=20
Attendees will in addition be able to register and attend tutorials,
workshops and paper sessions=20
as part of ICAT 2005.
CONFERENCE TOPICS
Submissions are solicited on, but not limited to, the following topics
on mobile and ubiquitous=20
multimedia:
- Architectures, protocols, and algorithms to cope with
mobility, roaming, limited=20
bandwidth, or intermittent connectivity
- Case studies, field trials and evaluations of new applications
and services
- HCI, interaction design and techniques, user-centered studies
- Intelligent, aware, proactive, and attentive environments,
perception and=20
modeling of the environment
- Middleware and distributed computing support for mobile and
ubiquitous=20
multimedia
- Mobile computer graphics, games and entertainment
- Novel adaptive/context-aware/mobile/ubiquitous/wireless
multimedia=20
applications and systems
- Streaming mobile multimedia
- Media analysis on mobile devices
PAPER SUBMISSION
Submissions are requested in form of a 6-8 page full paper, submitted
electronically via the=20
Conference WWW Site. Although the final format is not required at the
time of submission,=20
authors are encouraged to use the SIGGRAPH style. For those interested
