I have done a full rebuild(i did a clean and then Rebuild All) and the number of vrml objects is still 30.What should i do?

But you did perform a build.Just to make sure before you start investigating other causes: do a full REBUILD (rebuild all) of ARToolKit (With OBJECT_MAX set to an appropriate size) and try to see if it works. If it still doesn't work you'll have to look in other directions. Indeed. You can't just compile a header file. But you did perform a
build.
Just to make sure before you start investigating other causes: do a
full
