We've been using ARToolkit with the Apple iSight camera and the CMU 1394
driver under Windows; it's generally been working well except for some odd
traveling scanline artifacts. We recently upgraded to the Point Grey
Dragonfly 2 camera, 640x480 model. With both the zoom lens on the
developer kit, and an Edmund Optics fixed focus 6mm lens (model 57778),
we get a much more distorted picture than the iSight produced, and the
tracking performance is much worse. The field of view is similar (54.5
degrees on the iSight vs. 58.3 degrees on the EO lens), so I would have
thought that the amount of distortion would be similar. I'm starting to
wonder if the iSight has some antidistortion elements in it.
Does anyone have recommendations for good fixed field of view CS mount
lenses that work well with ARToolkit?
