*** Conditions for participation ***
If you want to attend the MIXER workshop, please submit a position paper (1=
=20
page, up to 5 pages) before April 30 (see Submission and Participation for=
=20
more details).
*** MIXER Scope ***
MIXER is an international workshop dedicated to the design and engineering=
=20
of Mixed Reality Systems. Following on from the first work-shop,=20
MIXER=B42004, jointly organized with ACM-IUI=B42004 and CADUI=B42004, the=
primary=20
goal of MIXER=B42006 is to bring together researchers in the area of Mixed=
=20
Reality (MR) systems (including augmented reality, augmented virtuality,=20
augmented video, and tangible systems) to identify and articulate key=20
research challenges for the design and engineering of MR systems.
Also, in order to develop reliable theoretical foundations for MR systems,=
=20
there is a need to gather the results of MR research and development to=20
create a body of reusable knowledge for the design and construction of=20
future systems. This body of knowledge may include:
- MR design and engineering issues;
- Research challenges for design methods and tools;
- A corpus of applicable usability knowledge (e.g., guidelines, design=20
heuristics).
*** Submission and Participation ***
In order to foster rich discussions during the workshop, participants will=
=20
have an on-line access to the accepted submissions 3 weeks prior the=
workshop.
Therefore, if you wish to participate and havn't yet submitted a long=20
paper, we are seeking for short papers (1 to 5 pages), briefly presenting=20
the position of the participants with regards to the topics of the workshop.
Please foloow the formating instructions provided at this URL=20
http://www.springer.com/sgw/cda/frontpage/0,11855,5-40492-0-0-0,00.html.=20
and use the online conference reviewing system=20
http://www.conferencereview.com/index.asp to submit the position papers.
All papers (long and short) accepted for the workshop will first be=20
published in the on-line proceedings of the workshop prior the workshop.
*** Important Dates ***
- Workshop: June 5th, 2006
- On-Line publication: May 12th, 2006
- Deadline for position papers: April 30th, 2006
- Deadline for long paper submissions: February 27th, 2006 (CLOSED)
