Hi Sam,
looks like you are almost there.
in the new cmake based branch if you run the applications its best to
create a symbolic link into the correct directory. For historical
reasons the ARToolKit examples and utilities expect all miscellaneous
data like the camera_para.dat in a Data folder side-by-side of the
executable. From the bin folder in the build directory execute the
following:
build/bin$> ln -s ../../bin/Data .
If you want to use your built-in camera please have a look into
doc/video/index.html (the videotest image is just the default video
capture in GStreamer) in regard of setting the ARTOOLKIT_CONFIG
environment variable or setting the configuration string in the example
code. And, don't wonder if its sitting with idle for a few seconds
sometimes even a minute, this happens when GStreamer is being loaded the
first time - it loads all plugins in order to configure the capture
pipeline.
