Michael Meyer

Industrial Fellow
206-221-3813
Meyer(at)visiongate3d.com

Michael Meyer has been working with VisionGate since December 2004. He part of a research team developing an early cancer detection system based on 3D cellular morphology.

Michael is also working on image engineering and classification of abnormalities for the UVision system.

Prior to joining Vision Gate Michael was working in R&D for IBM in Rocher, Minnesota. He was involved with research and development related to hard disk drives with special emphasis on mechanical reliability of the read sensor, disk interface, recursive detection when using non-linear signals, optimization of disk Ð magneto-resistive sensor magnetic properties for low-end storage applications.

Michael has also worked for NeoPath/TriPath during which he developed algorithms for rare event detection such as cancer, this lead to the development of AutoPap- the first fully automated system for detection of abnormal Pap smears.

Michael has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of
Illinois and a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.

Outside the lab Michael enjoys exploring the art of Indian cooking. Saag Paneer, a rich, spicy, spinach and cheese dish from northern India, ranks amongst his favorite.
