Namhun Lee

Research Assistant
206-616-1499
namhun(at)u.washington.edu

Namhun received a B.S. from the Department of Architectural Engineering, Kyung-Hee University, Korea and an M.S. from the Department of Construction Management, University of Washington. He is now pursuing a Ph.D. in the interdisciplinary program, the Built Environment. What convinced him about joining the Ph.D. program was its inter-disciplinary nature. He also believes that "major advances in research and discovery will be made at the interfaces between disciplines."

Namhun is interested in information visualization that applies Human-Computer Interaction concepts. Information visual representations in construction management provide the better understanding of ongoing construction projects to the construction domain. The people within the domain are able to deal with rapidly unfolding events and the pressure of quick decision-making more effectively through the visual representations. His research focuses on data taxonomy, information visualization, human visual cognition, and data mining and knowledge discovery.
