Konrad Schroder

Information Tech & Services
206-616-1478
perseant(at)hitl.washington.edu

Konrad's main role in the lab focuses on IT support and related tasks. His experience as NeXT and Unix lead help desk consultant at the now-defunct Academic Computer Center lab and his strong interest in log-structured filesystems and genetic algorithms with global fitness functions have led to Konrad being an invaluable part of the HIT Lab since 1995.

Konrad has a genuine interest in the lab to succeed as a whole and he provides invaluable support to all members of the lab through his in depth knowledge of all IT related aspects.

His busy role includes system administrator, programmer and consultant on various lab projects, maintaining the web site, offering in-depth support to staff and students and making sure that the general computer infrastructure is in a stable and workable state at all times.

Konrad has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with distinction and a Bachelor of Arts in Latin, both from the University of Washington.

Outside the lab Konrad likes working on various programming projects, including LFS and various GA-based endeavors. He also enjoys a bit of writing, a lot of reading, singing in church choir and serving the community as a deacon.
