ASCENSION EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION OF FLOCK OF BIRDS(TM)

South Burlington, VT, December 19, 1994 -- Ascension announces the
inauguration of a worldwide reseller's program to meet increasing market
demand for its Flock of Birds, one of the premiere tracking products in
the world today.

"We are pleased to open up new channels of distribution," said Jack
Scully, vice president of Ascension, "to expand accessibility and tighten
local service and support."

"While major markets will always exist in the USA," he continued, "Europe
and Asia will be major players in the development of emerging markets --
such as virtual reality and performance animation -- for robust
motion-capture devices."

Ascension's Flock of Birds provides high speed, long-range performance
with minimal distortion due to nearby metals. Because they emit pulsed DC
fields, in amplitudes similar to the earth's magnetic field, Flock trackers
do not suffer from line-of-sight blocking problems. Users engaged in
full-body tracking for character-animation applications need not worry
that data will be lost if there is an obstruction between the Flock's
transmitter and receivers mounted on head, hands, and limbs. Unlike
camera-based trackers, Flock data are also available in real time for
interaction with virtual and animation software packages. Of critical
importance is the fact that the Flock is the only tracker available that
processes in parallel each of its receiver's outputs. This is essential to
users tracking multiple targets -- such as a head and hands -- in a
virtual reality game or experience, where minimal lag is critical. Without
parallel processing, even the fastest tracker gets bogged down as its
single processor must handle more and more computations.

Because of its unique advantages, the Flock is the choice of more
animators, interactive software developers, and moviemakers than any other
motion tracker. It has been chosen for motion capture by leading-edge
animators including PDI, ILM, R/Greenberg Associates, Mr. FILM, Colossal
Pictures, and Windlight Studios. The Flock's real-time outputs of position
and orientation data are directly linked to animation software from Alias,
Softimage, Wavefront and Autodesk (3D Studio).

International resellers with established sales records in 3D computer
graphics markets are invited to apply for representation. They will join
Ascension's resellers in Japan, UK, Australia, Israel and the USA now
selling Flock products in various vertical markets.

Ascension, based in South Burlington, Vermont, USA, has extensive
experience in developing, manufacturing and marketing multi
degrees-of-freedom tracking devices for various graphics markets.
