Subject: ONLINE: The AmigaVR mailing list is open for business

After my initial announcement (and several subscription requests), I
am formally announcing the opening of the AmigaVR mailing list.
Please note that the subscription procedure is slightly different that
it was in my first announcement. Fear not, 'though, as I will be
honoring the initial procedure for some time to come. Please do read
the instructions provided below. It is a copy of the announcement
letter that is sent to all new subscribers.

Welcome to the AmigaVR mailing list. This message was last updated on 30Sep93.

Please send submissions to AmigaVR-list@kumiss.cmhnet.org

Please send requests to listserv@kumiss.cmhnet.org. Note that this is
different from the method required when this list was originally set up. A
list of listserv requests is provided below.

To subscribe to this list, send a message to listserv@kumiss.cmhnet.org with
the subject of "subscribe amigavr-list <your first name> <your last name>".

Please notify me of any mailer-type problems at <erd@kumiss.cmhnet.org>. Do
not send your problems to the listserver itself. I want to hear what's wrong
with the mechanics of the list; the subscribers do not!

This listserv package is written for ARexx on the Amiga, so there are some
rough edges on the software which will be smoothed over as the software gets
some user-abuse. It is intended that the package used to adminstrate the
list should act like a unix-listserv. Please be patient if changes are made
down the road to accomplish this goal.

This list is for anyone who is doing anything with Virtual Reality on the
Amiga. It doesn't matter if you are a developer or just an off-the-shelf
user. PLEASE TELL US WHAT YOU ARE UP TO. Details are always welcome.

Since it is not possible to ftp to kumiss, there is no ftp site for data
relating to this list. In future versions of the listserv software, it
will be possible to request files (and lists of available files) that are
germain to this list. See this space for details.
