I can confirm this.  Anyone who has seen the game "Starglider II" cannot
have failed to be impressed with the filled-in real-time 3D graphics the
game uses, at five or ten frames per second.  The programmer, Jez San,
wrote his own 3D routines which he says were faster than the Amiga
blitter. 

If you haven't seen S II, see it and be convinced that VR can be done today.
