The Simulator Training Research Advanced Testbed for Aviation (STRATA)
research simulation facility is available for use by organizations and
researchers (both government and commercial). STRATA is a full fidelity
flight simulator which includes a Fiber-Optic Helmet-mounted Display
to present the outside world to the operator (or pilot). The FOHMD
provides a virtually unlimited field of regard and is head and
eye-tracked. STRATA is wel-suited to applications and requirements
definition research for virtual environments, avionics and other
types of human performance research. The image generator is the
evans and sutherland ESIG-1000. For further information about
STRATA and the resource requirements for using it, please contact me.
