I was interested into creating a VR world/space similar to that of
Gibson's matrix using a vrml editor/creator. Any input, any
interested, is it possible with a 486's speed?

Your input is welcome.

Is there one? Is there a public domain one?

[Yes, however you need to install QuickDraw3D as well:

Whurlwind

Power macintosh native

Review From:
http://www.bos.nl/wag3d/browsers.html
Whurlwind 3D Browser & Web Surfer:

A PowerPC Macintosh QuickDraw3D VRML browser. Whurlwind is an
application for viewing 3DMF and VRML models. Whurlwind relies on
QuickDraw 3D for rendering, navigation and URL picking. This first
version of Whurlwind allows users to view 3DMF and VRML models from
different camera position and to jump to other Web sites (soon
released future versions will allow scene navigation, allowing users
to cruise around 3D space). Bill Enright and John Louch. Currently
Supported Platforms:

         Macintosh models with QD3D installed

Virtus Voyager
http://www.virtus.com/voyager.html
Review from:
http://rosebud.sdsc.edu/SDSC/Partners/vrml/software/browsers.html

Alpha Version. Virtus Voyager may be used now as a stand-alone
product, and soon as a helper application for other 2-D Net browsers
like Netscape or Mosaic. In addition to VRML, Virtus Voyager will be
expanded to import Virtus' own proprietary VMDL file format. This will
be especially efficient for larger files. Future plans also include
incorporation of other 3-D
modeling and rendering file formats. Virtus Corporation.

      Currently Supported Platforms:
               Macintosh
               Power Macintosh

 VRML Equinox, Alpha Release
 http://www.ipsystems.com/nps/equiinfo.html

[NOTE: I have downloaded Equinox a week or so ago, however when I
checked the link today it wasn't working.]

 Review from:
http://rosebud.sdsc.edu/SDSC/Partners/vrml/software/browsers.html

VRML Equinox supports the full set of the VRML 1.0 specification,
using Apple's QuickDraw 3D technology to present realistic rendered
environments. VRML Equinox can also communicate with Netscape
Communications Corp.'s Navigator. VRML Equinox can instruct Navigator
to retrieve new VRML files. Additionally, VRML Equinox can point
Navigator to any Universal Resource Locator (URL), giving VRML Equinox
the ability to be the front end to file servers and other information
sources. Future plans for VRML Equinox include the support of
behaviors and scripts. North Plains Systems Inc.
      Currently Supported Platforms:
               Macintosh Power PC

Does anybody have any information on the SEGA LCD virtual-reality
glasses? I have the information that I found on the Cheap-VR site,
but I'm interested in the electrical specifications of the glasses.
Any information or pointers appreciated...

Thanks,
Craig
