Hi everyone,
As a newcomer to the field, I was wondering if someone could give me some
references to VRML, containing info such as:
  What is it?
Where do you get it from?
What resources are there for it?
Are there conversion programs for it (I suppose IGES might be intuitive...)
Is there a FAQ for this newgroup?

Thank you all very much...
Justin Kidder

hey folks... this is my first time posting to any newsgroup, so bear with
me...

I'm writing a paper about VR technology (its only 4-5 pages, not too
in-depth) and being relatively new to the stuff I was wondering this..
about how feasible is it to have any type of VR device installed in one's
home?? what would it be that would be installed??
what I'm really looking for is if there's been any (and if so, how much)
drop in cost of VR since 1987 (have some figures from then) and I'm trying
to forecast how long it will be until this type of technology will be able
to be used on a regular basis by (at least) some people to do stuff like
shopping, etc...

anyhow, being a college student, my paper is due tomorrow, and I'm just
getting started now (even though it might seem bad, I pretty much know
what I wanna say, and the prof. insists that we use Courier font.. :)
so, any prompt replies would be very much appriciated... thanks in
advance!!!

Hi, I wonder if anyone can tell me what they know about Distributed
Interactive Simulation (DIS) -- the US military's standard for
multi-user, realtime, 3-D computing?

Any input on resources, tools vendors, the technology in general
(applications, viability, futures, etc.) would be appreciated. Best if
responses sent direct to me via email, todd@sterlinghager.com.

TIA,
Todd Defren
