MEDIALAB announces CLOVIS, a high-end virtual reality package for Silicon
Graphics platforms.

Released early 1995, it is aimed at Defense and Industrial markets and at 
multimedia development centers.
CLOVIS focuses on quality rendering in real time.

Features include:	Full texture mapping
			Local light sources
			Geometry optimisation
			Atmospheric effects (fog, haze) 
			Extensive camera controls 
			Interactive navigation 
			Shared memory access (<-> user applications) 
			Audio server option
			Extensive control of shading parameters

Possibilities range from simple interactions through to complex simulations.
It is the first product of its type that efficiently combines an intuitive 
graphical user interface (GUI) with a powerful interpreted scripting language.
With CLOVIS, there is no distinction between the authoring and run-time stages.
Modifications can be made interactively during a simulation. 
Any parameter can be fine-tuned.

CLOVIS can be used for production:	
Real time walkthroughs with interactions using typical VR devices. 
NO programming !

And for development:	
Script-driven interpreter with more than 300 functions and macros
available for scene manipulation and interaction.
NO compiling !

CLOVIS takes advantage of the transparency of EXPLORE software from 
(Alias/Wavefront).
CLOVIS is the only VR package worldwide to import both complete scene content
and animation, thereby offering the unique possibility of combining sequences 
synchronized to real-time events with previous simulations. 

CLOVIS is being used today by such prestigious clients as:
	The French Ministry of Defense
	DCN (French National Ship Builder)
	IFP (French Petroleum Institute) 
	CERN (European Nuclear Research Center, Geneva)
	Toshiba Multimedia (Tokyo)
