2-27-94 posted on homebrew-vr list: Keeping in mind the difference between the Stuntmaster and the CyberMaxx HMDs is important. We designed the Stuntmaster as an accessory for the Nintendo and Sega game machines. That unit was not stereoscopic and had very low resolution. As a "toy" it was fine since the target market was ages 9-17. Unfortunately, the unit is consistently compared with higher end products. The CyberMaxx is far more than the Stuntmaster. We designedthe CyberMaxx for all ages but its target market is adult. The CyberMaxx is stereoscopic, sourceless head motion tracking with high quality stereo sound. Targeted for PCs, it is a much higher quality, more professional unit. If I speak of a VictorMaxx headset it is as important to mention the model as it would be in talking to my Ford dealer about my car. We discontinued Stuntmaster about a year ago. Though some are still for sale in some outlets, our natural assumption when talking about the VictorMaxx HMD is we are speaking of the CURRENT unit. To avoid confusion and frustration please use the specific name or model of the unit to which you refer. This will be particularly important as the CyberMaxx advances and more models are in the market. Thank you all for your cooperation. Harold Knaack (VictorMaxx)
