FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Virtual World Entertainment Signs OEM Agreement with Division

First Order of Division's VPX graphics cards worth more than $2 million

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., October 17, 1994 -- Under a recently signed
agreement, Division will provide its VPX graphics boards to Virtual
World Entertainment, Inc(tm) (VWE) for use in location-based entertainment
centers around the world. VWE's initial order of VPX boards is worth
more than $2 million.

The VPX board is an image generator based on Pixel-Planes(tm)
technology licensed by Division from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. The boards will allow VWE to create 3D
games with interactive response times and a high level of visual
realism.

VWE has 16 Virtual World centers in America and Japan, with an
additional 10 sites scheduled to open worldwide next year. The
centers provide fully immersive virtual reality experiences, where
players climb into individual cockpits and compete against one
another in the virtual worlds of their choice.

"Division's VPX boards will make it possible for our venues to offer
the player an enthralling experience," says Jordan Weisman, VWE's
president. "Division's advanced hardware and their software
experience will help us to meet the challenging requirements for our
next generation of centers."

Division's CEO Charles Grimsdale sees VWE's venues "as a major step
forward in entertainment, bringing a competitive gaming environment
to players demanding more immersive experiences. We are very
pleased to be able to work with a company recognized as the leader
in this exciting market."

"Furthermore, the agreement is consistent with our strategy of
leveraging our core technologies as widely as possible, while
continuing to provide virtual reality solutions for end users in the
industrial and professional markets," added Mr. Grimsdale.

Division's PC-based VPX board incorporates massively parallel
rendering technology that generates 150,000 texture-mapped polygons
per second and has a screen-fill performance of more than 900
megapixels per second. It is available as a board that can be
integrated into an original equipment manufacturer's (OEM's) PC
platform or as a fully configured development platform called
ProVision Merlin, which includes Intel's Pentium processor, VPX
graphics cards, and software development tools. ProVision Merlin is
a complete solution for developing location-based entertainment
games.

The Division Group of companies specializes in providing virtual
reality technology, products, and services for professional virtual
reality applications. Headquartered in Bristol, UK, Division has US
offices in Chapel Hill, NC, San Diego, Calif., and Redwood City,
Calif., as well as offices and distributors worldwide. Its shares are
traded on the London Stock Exchange. Prominent Division customers
include Gulfstream, McDonnell Douglas, VWE, NASA, Nynex, DoD, Glaxo,
Matsushita, GEC, British Telecom, GTE and Sandia National
Laboratories.
