London, 15th May 1995 - G WEB

VIRTUAL PRESENCE, Europe's leading independent VR systems company will
unveil G WEB, a new virtual world authoring software package, at VR95
in San Jose next week.

G WEB is believed to be the first VR modeller designed to meet the new VRML
(Virtual Reality Modelling Language) 1.0 standard announced last month.

VRML enables Internet accessible 3D virtual worlds to be specified and
linked to each other via 'portals'. Users will be able to enter and
explore 3D spaces, and travel widely from world to world through
'cyberspace'. It is expected that worlds will be created for a wide
range of commercial, social, cultural, educational, medical and other
applications. They may attract millions of visitors using either home
or business computers. HeadMounted Displays and other standard i/o
devices will be supported.

Support for VRML has already been announced by many major computer and
graphics companies, including Silicon Graphics and the first VRML
browsers have already been demonstrated for PCs and Workstations.

G WEB is the latest member of the Virtual Presence 'Genesis' VR
software family, whose users include many of the world's leading
commercial and academic VR development teams. G WEB provides a 'point
and click' graphical user interface (gui) and is designed to be used by
people with no programming experience. Users can create their worlds
from scratch, or they can import existing data - for example from CAD
packages - and utilise G WEB's advanced database optimising tools to
maximise performance from the VRML browsers on the target sites.

Shipments of the beta release will commence June 1st for:

Windows 3.1 (TM)

Windows NT (TM)

Silicon Graphics

and on July 1st for:

SUN Sparc (TM)

Other platforms by demand - G WEB is intended to be a user-led product.

We have some very special offers for our early beta clients - please
call for registration details.
