Subject: Meme press release

For Immediate Release

May 9, 1994 (San Francisco)--Immersive Systems, Inc. announces the
availability of Meme(tm), a development system for virtual world software.

Meme is specifically intended for the development of networked multi-user
virtual worlds. Meme uses the popular TCP/IP suite of computer networking
protocols and is ready for use on the Information Superhighway.

Meme stores virtual objects in modules that contain executable code and data.
The modules are designed to be interoperable and will behave identically on
any computer platform running Meme. Modules can be saved to disk and
transmitted over the network.

Meme is now available for DOS. It runs on PC-compatible (80386 or better)
computers with a math coprocessor, VGA, and at least 8 MB of RAM. It
produces real-time 3-D computer graphics at up to 50,000 polygons per second.
Future releases of Meme will be ported to other microcomputer platforms and
high-end graphics workstations.

Meme uses the RenderWare(tm) graphics library from Criterion Software Ltd.

Meme supports Logitech's CyberMan(tm) and will have support for Creative
Labs' SoundBlaster(tm) (Q3 '94). Custom I/O drivers can be written for Meme.
Meme can be configured to support either desktop or immersive VR.

The alpha release of Meme is now available to qualified developers.

Marc de Groot, CEO of Immersive Systems, says, "The timing couldn't be
better. Just as the Information Superhighway is becoming available to the
average citizen, Meme makes it possible to build a shared virtual universe
on the net. Are you ready for the colonization of Cyberspace? Meme is the
tool that will let you make it happen."
