Toni,

I posted a couple of entries to your newsgroup in the last few weeks
but have not seen them appear. I know our Internet provider has been
a bit slow but I belwive that they do not loose postings. I was
wondering if you could add the following to the group (I posted it
over a week ago).

The subject was: ANNOUNCE: P10 Textured Image Generator for PCs
Text follows. Many thanks. Alan Simmonds

PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT

TEXTURED IMAGE GENERATOR FOR PCs PRIMARY IMAGE P10

A PC fitted with P10 can now give an image quality and
performance comparable with large desk side Unix systems such as
the Silicon Graphics Onyx Reality Engine (TM).

The system is fully scalable, with costs ranging from $5,000 to
$80,000 per channel. Systems can be configured with up to 8
independent channels.

P10 is shipping now in volume - it was introduced at the I/ITSEC
show in Orlando in November 94 and a number of companies and
government organisations in the simulation, entertainment and VR
markets are already using P10 in their new systems.

Image Quality:- 32 bit textured system (24 bit RGB + 8 bit
transparency). 16 sub-pixel antialiasing, true perspective
texture with MIPMAP.

High throughput:- Up to 1,600,000 meshed triangles per second,
8,000 textured polygons per frame at 30Hz update rate.

Powerful system:- up to 1,280 Mflop of on-board transformation
processing, up to 64 Mbyte of texture memory.

Host PC is free for application programs:- Unlike some other 3D
graphics cards the host PC is NOT used for 3D database storage
or 3D transforms.

Ease of use:- With about 2 pages of C code you can create your
own working simulation program. P10 is not just a graphics card
it is a complete solution including software.

Advanced API (P10_CGI):- High level C programming interface with
many advanced features - collision detection, automatic Level of
Detail Management, articulated joints, morphing.

Database development toolset:- We provide a well integrated, low
cost, database development environment based on a mixture of our
own software (P10_GEN) and standard PC packages such as
Autodesk's AutoCAD (TM) and Adobe PhotoShop (TM). Import of
Multigen OpenFlight (TM) databases.

[TM = All trade marks acknowledged. REF: \info\P10\SPEC04.spe]
[All specifications subject to change without notice.]
