Program and information

Welcome to the first Virtual Reality conference in Norway: keynote
addresses and panel discussions by internationally recognized experts in
VR, technical demonstrations of networked VR and special exhibitions of
hardware and software.

Highlighted are: VR applications in art, culture, education,
entertainment, industry, and Garage VR. Aspects related to VR
applications in telecommunications where social and moral issues are
emphasized.

VRO94 is international in scope, offering the most current information
and experience in this rapidly expanding field. This conference is of
influence to the future development and application areas.

Host for the conference is The Norwegian Virtual Reality Society  which
is founded as a special interest group by the initiators.

15 30 VR Experience - Networked Virtual Reality
Technical demontrations of networked VR linking: University of Oslo, the
Informatics building and UNIK/NTR, Kjeller, employing the Supernett
(ATM). Participants will have the opportunity to interactwith users
located at a remote site. A bus will transfer maximum 50 persons to the
VR laboratories at NTR and UNIK at Kjeller.

- Virtual Polis v 2.0 (Premiere of version 2.0 of the Cyberspace City,
consisting of stores, highrise appartments, museum, park, and disco)

- Virtual Viking Village v 1.0 (Premiere of a networked reconstruction
of an ancient Viking settlement)

Maximum 50 persons will be transported to the research laboratories at
NTR/UNIK.

Ca. 18 00: Bus back to Oslo (30 min.)
