               on Graphics and Visualization
                      Education (GVE)
              in Cooperation with ACM SIGGRAPH

                    CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS

         Maastricht, The Netherlands 28-29 August 1995

Aims and Scope: Following two very successful workshops
(Barcelona-93 and Olso-94) the Third Eurographics Workshop
on Graphics and Visualization Education (GVE) will take
place in Maastricht. The two days workshop will be held on
Saturday and Sunday after Eurographics 95. The main purpose
is to provide an international forum to present, discuss and
evaluate some issues concerning Graphics and Visualization
Education. The workshop aims to be the main forum of
discussion between professors of Computer Graphics,
Engineering and Art. The emphasis will be on the definition
of common curricula. The workshop also aims to exchange
experiences on using computer based tools to teach Computer
Graphics. The workshop will offer invited and refereed
papers, group discussions and plenary discussions.

 Main topics:
  - Computer Graphics curricula
  - Computer based tools in education
  - Methods for evaluating the usefulness of Computer based tools
  - Perception and communication in teaching Computer Graphics and Visualization
  - Multimedia in Education
  - Visualization / simulation of graphics algorithms

During the Workshop discussion in the context of the
Eurographics Working Group on Education and the
collaboration with the Education Group of ACM-SIGGRAPH will
be continued.

Extended Abstracts: Authors are invited to send position
papers presenting experiences, results and new developments
related to the topics of the workshop. The authors should
submit 4 copies of the position papers (up to 15 single
sided pages, less than 10 000 words, 200 word abstract) to
one of the Co-Chairs. The position papers will be reviewed
by the Programme Committee. The number of participants is
limited to 60.

Proceedings: The best papers will be published in
proceedings or journal form.

Important Dates:
Deadline for position papers    5 June 1995
Notification of acceptance      19 June 1995
Final version of papers         17 July 1995
Workshop                        28-29 August 1995

Location and Fee: The Workshop will be held in Maastricht,
The Netherlands in connection with Eurographics 95. The fee
(including lunches and coffee during breaks but excluding
accommodation) will be approximately 100Sfr for EG and ACM
SIGGRAPH members, and 200Sfv for non-members.
