CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS
          The 3rd UK VR-SIG Conference
               University of Hull
             July 27th 1995

The 3rd UK VR-SIG conference will be hosted by Hull University
on Thursday, July 27th, 1995. The conference is a one day event with
presentations and a display/demonstration room. Dedicated to VR in the UK,
this conference will provide an opportunity for members of UK VR-SIG
to publicly present and exhibit their work to a wide audience.

CONFERENCE PAPERS/PRESENTATIONS - Submissions of papers for
presentation are welcome on subjects directly related to virtual reality
and virtual environments. Selection of presentations will be made on the
basis of extended abstracts of three to four pages, which must arrive no
later than June 30th, along with a notification of audio-visual requirements
related to the presentation of the paper. Successful contributors will
be notified by July 10th, and must submit a full paper (between 5 to 8
pages) either via electronic mail or on 3.5" disk by 27th July, the day
of the conference. We actively encourage new researchers to contribute their
work.
At least one of the paper's authors *must* be a full member of UK VR-SIG
(ie quote their membership number - for details of how to join, see
below).

POSTER PRESENTATION - There will be a limited amount of space available
to present posters of VR work from UK VR-SIG members. This is an ideal space
to present details of on-going projects. Please send details to the
organiser by June 30th.

DEMONSTRATION ROOM - Space will also be available for the display of VR
projects, as well as trade displays. If you have a system you would
like to demonstrate then please get in touch with the organiser by June
30th. VR companies who have joined UK VR-SIG are also invited to come and
exhibit. There is no cost, but space may be limited, so please make contact
soon. There will be breaks in the conference programme for refreshments
and to allow delegates to view the demonstrations.

DELEGATES - The conference is FREE to attend. Space is limited, so
please register your intention to attend as soon as possible. Full
UK VR-SIG members will have priority for places.

PROCEEDINGS - Proceedings will be produced electronically. Copies will be
sent free to all UK VR-SIG members providing a disk and postage. Hard
copies will be available after the conference for the cost of printing and
postage.

JOINING THE UK VR-SIG - Membership forms are available from:
r.hollands@sheffield.ac.uk on request. VR companies, who are not yet members
may join UK VR-SIG at no cost by getting in touch.
