A scientific programme and an extensive exhibition. The scientific programme will bring together six individual conferences, subdivided into several topics with as main theme: Simulation in Industry. with special emphasis on industrial applications of simulators and computer technology. We invite papers for presentation at the conference and for publication in the Conference Proceedings on the following subjects. Distributed Interactive Simulation, Virtual Reality & Synthetic Environment Defence Industrial Applications Entertainment Simulation in Business Business Process Engineering Decision Support Systems Simulation in Project Financing The Factory of the Future Manufacturing & Logistics Industrial and Process Simulators Simulation for Design Automation Simulation for Services Power Plant Simulators Electronics & Telecommunications Harbour and Maritime Transport Mission Earth Environmental Sciences Emergency Management Biotechnology & Medical Sector Transportation Simulation in the Service of Society Theory of Modelling and Simulation Methodology Modelling Techniques Tools Languages Advanced Computing & Simulation The conference will also feature the following: Plenary Presentations Distributed Interactive Simulation: The State of The Art & The Future M.Ryan, Logica Systems, UK High Performance Simulation: Migration of Production Codes, Requirements, Constraints and Tools. P.M.A.Sloot, Amsterdam University, The Netherlands Advanced Computer Graphics in The Making of Computer Video Games. Only original papers, written in English, which have not previously been published elsewhere will be accepted. Authors are expected to register early (at a reduced fee) and to attend the conference at their own expense to present the accepted papers. Without early registration and payment, the paper will not be published in the Conference Proceedings. Each abstract will be reviewed by at least three members of the International Program Committee. The notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent by JULY 1, 1996. Along with the notification of acceptance, an author kit with complete instructions for preparing a camera-ready copy for the Proceedings will be sent to authors of accepted abstracts or drafts . The camera-ready copy of the papers (or electronic versions of the paper in Word 6.0 or WP 5 for Windows, TeX or LateX ) must be in by SEPTEMBER 5, 1996. In order to guarantee a high-quality conference, the full papers will be reviewed as well, to check whether the suggestions of the program committee have been incorporated. Nominees for the best paper award will then be selected as well. Language The official conference language and the language of the accepted papers will be English. State of The Art Reviews or Panel Discussions If you plan to give state-of-the-art reviews or to organize panel discussions, then please contact the European Simulation Office. Best Paper Award The 1996 European Simulation Symposium will award the best papers, one in each track. From these papers the best overall paper will be chosen. We will try to have the awarded overall best paper published in an International Journal, if necessary after incorporating modifications to the paper.
