The WorldToolKit Users' Group (SIG-WTK) has been set up at the NASA Ames
Research Center in Mountain View, California. This user group has been
organized by WorldToolKit customers with assistance from Sense8. SIG-WTK
provides a world-wide electronic forum for the discussion of WTK-related
issues as well as an anonymous ftp site for uploading and downloading
WTK-related data. In addition to the electronic forum, several SIG-WTK users'
group meetings have been held and additional regular meetings are planned.

Here are some words from the original sig-wtk chairman, Terry Fong:

Subject: *** ANNOUNCING SIG-WTK ***

Greetings fellow WTK user!

I would like to cordially invite you to participate in "SIG-WTK", the
WorldToolKit Users' Group. This group is intended to provide a contact point
for users of Sense8 Corporation's "WorldToolKit" to discuss and exchange
information on a variety of topics. Among these are:

1. 3D objects: modeling, importing/exporting to WTK NFF, sharing

2. sensor drivers: development, reducing lag & latency

3. managing user interaction

4. efficient development of virtual environments with WTK

5. distribution and sharing of virtual environments

6. improving simulation performance (e.g., frame rate, quality)

7. platform specific issues (e.g., GL queues on SGI machines)

8. advocating WTK improvements/changes to Sense8

To send a message to all SIG-WTK members, please address it to:

        Internet: sig-wtk@artemis.arc.nasa.gov

To subscribe, unsubscribe, send email to:
        sig-wtk-request@artemis.arc.nasa.gov
with in the body of the message, the text "subscribe" or "unsubscribe"

To get help, or a list of possible commands, send email to:
majordomo@artemis.arc.nasa.gov with in the body "help"

Welcome to SIG-WTK!

Terry Fong SIG-WTK chair

SIG-WTK: Anonymous FTP Site

Sender: Terry Fong <well!uunet!ptolemy.arc.nasa.gov!terry>

Subject: *** ANNOUNCING SIG-WTK ELECTRONIC ARCHIVE ***

Bonjour!

I am pleased to announce that the SIG-WTK anonymous ftp archive has been
setup. This archive has been setup for anonymous ftp on ARTEMIS.ARC.NASA.GOV
(128.102.115.149) in the ~ftp/sig-wtk directory. Feel free to upload your
worlds! If you do not have the capability for anonymous ftp, you will be
unable to access the site. Contributions to the site will, however, be
accepted via email.

This site is intended solely for the archiving of public domain and freely
distributable copyrighted data (i.e., 3D objects and image textures) and user
contributed software (e.g., object file converters). Any misuse of this
archive may lead to its closure.

Please send any questions, comments or suggestions to Terry Fong (Internet
address: terry@ptolemy.arc.nasa.gov).

Enjoy!

-Terry Fong

P.S. As a courtesy to the users of ARTEMIS, please do not use the archive
during regular West Coast business hours (8 am - 5 pm, Pacific time).

WTK Electronic Archive Policy

anonymous ftp on the Internet to support the storage of:

  - low-resolution object data in 3D graphic formats
    useable by the WorldToolKit library
  - texture map data in color image formats
    useable by the WorldToolKit library

The purpose of this site is to facilitate the collection and
dissemination of public-domain data for use with the WorldToolKit
(WTK) software library. This archive will not contain any data which

Sense8 Corporation, and restriction may be enforced at any time.
  * Abuse of the site, including the import or export of non
public-domain data, will result in access denial.

The Sense8 Corporation (Sausalito, CA), developers of WorldToolKit,
recognize that this archive:

  - does not represent endorsement (stated or implied) of
WTK by the U.S. government or NASA
  - is likely to encourage and facilitate the use of WTK
by users within and outside of the U.S.
  - provides unrestricted access to public domain data
which is useable by WTK and may offer added value or
    benefit to WTK application developers
Welcome to the WorldToolKIt User's Group (SIG-WTK) electronic archive!
This anonymous ftp site serves as the software and documents library
for the SIG-WTK. It is intended to serve the needs of active WTK users
