For the LEDs for the camera system:  Velcro's OK.  You need only a small 
battery to run the things, and could use some sort of IR etc. feedback to
flash them in case the computer needs to check LED ID.

But you'll need wires for an eyephone display, and running a little more off
it's power supply won't hurt.  I agree that wireless is the goal, but I
think the prototypes will have to be wired.

Because current cheapie head-trackers are a bit limited in position and
angular range, wires won't be too big a problem.  Future systems that
track all of the user's limbs as he wanders about a "VR room" or lab
will need to be wireless: agreed.

Oh, yea.  Other problem with microwaves: any beam sharp enough to locate
sensors properly will need to be at a frequency that won't bend enough
to avoid obstables: it may diffract, but that *kills* your accuracy.
