Has anyone looked at the possibility of inertial tracking for following head
movements?

>From what I understand of inertial navigation systems (as used in airliners,
for example) the movement of the system is tracked by interpreting the
movements of a set of gyroscopes. It seems to me it should be possible to do
head tracking through the same principles.

Or am I off-base to start with?
