 Are we still trying to define virtual reality?  I am trying to define
it for my thesis, and this is a shot at it:

  Virtual Reality involves high information transfer between a human
and a computer in both directions.  Virtual reality is the result of
such information transfer whereby the user believes in or accepts
the emodiment of that information and wherein the user can interact with
that information.

(the wherein and whereby's make it sound more legal)
