On July 5th I will be winging my way west once more, to the
Land of the Rising Sun, and (1) participate in the Nikkei Symposium on
Artificial Reality and (2) partake of lots of sushi and sake and
friendship. (Not enough time to visit everyone on this short blow,
however: my wife insists on our fleeing Tokyo for more tolerable
regions!)

In my absence, Mark De Loura (whose excellent work on the
archives will shortly amaze you), will be moderating the newsgroup.
Please address administrative and related mail to Mark at

	madsax@milton.u.washington.edu

Personal mail, which I will read after my return on July 14th,
can be sent to me at:

	cyberoid@milton.u.washington.edu

I will shortly post the agenda for the Nikkei Symposium, which
is being finalized only at the 11th hour. Included are such luminaries
as MIT's Tom Sheridan, Myron Krueger, W Industries' John Waldern (ten-
tative), Jaron Lanier, and a host of Japan's own most innovative and
exciting researchers in virtual worlds and telerobotics.

I held off my earlier post on activities in Japan until I had
time to assimilate the lessons. Now it may be another week or so before
I feel comfortable doing this. Please bear with me in my absence as I
gather data for your convenience.

Thank you and thank you, Mark.
