The young, healthy "normal" human ear can do roughly 20-20000+Hz, with
14-16 bits of resolution.  Your milage may vary. Mine certainly does,
thanks mostly to live bands with no earplugs.

BTW, the human eye can detect flicker beyond 60 Hz, depending on illumination.
That's why high resolution computer screens have a refresh rate >60 Hz.
