I am a Computer Science undergrad at the University of North
Dakota and am working on a paper involving data and database
representation in virtual realities. I am having some problems
with finding good information, and have resorted to using Gibson
novels for reference. I know that William Gibson is not the only
person who has good ideas about how data would be represented, but
have not found any other written material on the subject.

I was wondering if anyone out there had any ideas on this topic,
because there seems to be lots of different ways to do this. Help
will be greatly appreciated. I was also wondering if it is correct
list someone from the net as a reference if they gave you a good idea
  or quote???

[MODERATOR'S NOTE: For those who have not yet discovered it, there is a
newsgroup, comp.human-factors, which sometimes treats general questions
of this nature. However, this remains a good topic for sci.virtual-worlds,
particularly as we close in on real applications for database realization.
(I use realization instead of visualization, to cover all of the sensory
modalities for perceiving data.) Thanks for your responses. -- Bob Jacobson]
