Pardon if this is a Frequently Asked Question,
but I need confirmation of some facts.

I remember hearing a while back about the
AutoDesk people attempting to copyright the term
"Cyberspace" as a trademark for their line of
486 based VR technology. William Gibson was evidently
so steamed by this, he counterattacked with an application
for copyright on the name William Bricken, the man who was
in charge of Autodesk's VR division at the time.

I seem to recall that both lawsuits were dropped.

Can anyone confirm these facts, or am I just spending too much time
wearing the eyephones? An e-mail reply is preferable.

				Thanks,
				Matt
