To any and all interested...

I'll be presenting a paper at a DoD Interagency Technical Information Exchange
on Visual Issues in Training and Simulation (in Mesa, AZ) this week entitled
"Visually-induced motion sickness in virtual reality systems: Implications
for Training and Mission Rehearsal." The co-author of the paper is Gary
Riccio, Dept. of Kinesiology, University of Illinois.

The paper discusses some past research on visually-induced motion
sickness and discusses the potential for problems with some VR systems. The
intent is not to conduct VR-bashing - quite the contrary. Our major argument
is to investigate the problem now so that when systems come online they will
have minimal difficulties.

We would be glad to send a copy via email to anyone who would like one - we're
anxious to hear comments and get together with those interested in similar
issues. Send me email if you would like a copy.
