About six weeks ago I posted this on comp.graphics:

In addition to responses I got requests to post a summary. Here goes.

I got many responses and have had a chance to talk with some people.
Half the responses indicated that I should have posted the request
on comp.graphics.visualization and sci.virtual-worlds as well.

Who does major work that matches my request? Three places:

   Human Interface Technology Lab in Seattle, Washington

   The Media Lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts

   Microelectronics Systems Laboratory at the University of
   North Carolina in Chappel Hill, North Carolina
   
There are other places that 'do VR stuff' that I heard from/about:

   Digital Image Design Inc
   NASA Ames
   VPL (AGE, Mattel)
   SGI (though I did not hear what they do)
   SRI
   Syracuse University
   Intel
   and a few aerospace companies

We have contacted some and when I get more time I will be thanking
those who passed messages. Oh, I don't claim this is complete other
than capturing all who directly responded by email.

Again I thank you and praise the value of Internet for doing this
sort of cattle call.
