I just received in the mail a little flyer from Shooting Star Technology
advertising its 6-D tracking system, the ADL-1. This is essentially a
headband that is attached via aluminum arms and potentiometers to a
black box with RS-232 out. The headband can accommodate earphones, stereo
LCD devices, and so forth. This package replaces the Polhemus or Ascension
radiating systems usually used for tracking purposes. I've not used one,
but the price of $1,499.00 (Canadian?) may appeal to those who are satis-
fied with a 36" x 18" cylindrical workspace (suited especially to sitdown
applications).
