I suspect that "VR-Ready" will be an elusive quality.  Alan's suggestions,
while worthy, are just generally nice qualities for any building.  Guessing
the  needs of tommorrow's technology from today's is difficult at best.
I suspect that most of them  will be judged too costly for most 
builders - when was the last time you were in a building where EVERYONE 
had big offices with doors?  

OTOH, I would recommend the description of the offices in Pat Cadigan's
book _Synners_.  People there have work space that are essentially 
carpeted pits with cabling, wiring, elevators, all the rigging needed
to fly through all sorts of virtual worlds.  

My real guess is  that given good VR we can dispense with the buildings
entirely and do it all from home....
