What a great idea!
 
The opportunity to provide lectures to people who would otherwise never have
the chance to see them. I believe the state of Maine, here in the US, has
done something like that for the whole state.
 
A large number of public sites are used so that essentially everyone in the
state is fairly close (a few miles at most) from a site they can attend
college courses at. Classes are beamed into these facilities.
 
It is clear, that more and more people beyond the normal college age are
interested in attending classes but do not have the time to travel to
campuses.
 
Also with telecommuting, and VR, and now this kind of stuff, it will allow
more people to move away from center cities and enjoy much of what was good
about big cities while still being able to experience the ambience of small
town life.
