I work for the oldest and largest company in the eye tracking
business. Applied Science Labs manufactures eye tracking systems
ranging from simple limbus trackers to more sophisticated pupil
center/corneal reflection systems used by aircraft manufacturers
and the military. ASL eye trackers were interfaced to aircraft
simulators and have proved to be successful components of the
SIMNET enviroment tests.

The rights to Biometrics' limbus tracker products have been aquired
by ASL fifteen years ago. Our Model 210 replaces those devices.

For a complete analysis of eye-movement techniques see Young & Sheena,
"Survey of eye movement recording methods" in Behaviour Research Methods
& Instrumentation 1975, Vol 7. It is a bit old but it remains the best
source of information. The pupil/corneal reflection technique is described
in Merchant & Morrisette "Remote measurement of eye direction..." in
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering 1974. This technique is
tolerant of instrument slippage or head motion. ASL's most advanced
products use this technique.
