Has anyone tried these out on a PC?  Can someone give me some input on what
kind of quality I'm looking at here.  I am very interested, and might
buy myself a pair.

If you think it's short, you're right, but it's compressed with the JPEG 
algorithm, and since JPEG is lossy, it's coded very redundantly.  Beware!
