INQUIRY RE: LIVE REAL-TIME INTERACTIVE PERFORMER TRACKING FOR THE STAGE

AVR is about to undertake a project that involves tracking a live
performer on stage along with real-time interaction with virtual
images. We are interested in hearing from anyone who has had
experience with live interactive tracking from the technical/creative
perspective.

Another aspect we'd like to explore is the possibility of wirless
tracking. Is there anyone who has in the past or is currently
developing/researching/working on any aspect of wireless tracking?
Pointers would be valuable as well. One thought was the potential of
microwave technology.

We're interested in any contact, information, news, resources etc.,
from anywhere in the world that directly or indirectly impact on these
subjects and their potential developments.

In my professional career in the theatre (prior to my involvement with
VR) I've designed nearly twenty shows in as many years, so the
theatrical-design process is very familiar to me. The opportunity of
merging my theatre-design experience with our work in the VR field is
most appealing and a challenging proposition. Some of the work and
development being done in real-time performer tracking for animation
would also be relevant.

Please feel free to email or contact me personally (signature below)
if you wish to contribute any information, leads or experience in this
area, I'd be most grateful for your input.

Cheers,

Paul A. Kelamn
