VRweb 1.0 Beta 3
================


VRweb is a browser for 3D worlds and scenes modeled in the Virtual
Reality Modeling Language (VRML). VRweb is a joint project between
IICM, home of Hyper-G, NCSA, home of Mosaic, and the University of
Minnesota, home of Gopher.


New in this release:

*** VRweb for Windows NT, 3.x, and 95; and DEC Ultrix ***

*** source code available for UNIX/X11 and Windows ***

* VRML samples included

* faster Mesa driver under X11:
  flat shading dithered on 8bit, much faster smooth shading

* LOD (level of detail) supported


Supported platforms under UNIX are SGI, SUN OS, SUN Solaris,
DEC Alpha, DEC Ultrix, HPUX, and LINUX.

The supported Windows platforms are Windows NT (OpenGL),
Windows 95 and 3.x (with Win32S).

This release contains source code for both the UNIX/X11 and Windows
version. It can be used without a fee for academic, research, and
internal business purposes - see the COPYRIGHT of the distribution.
