Amber for Windows 3.1 and Windows95 will begin shipping this Friday,
October 27th.

Demonstrations built with the pre-release version are available NOW for 
download from our web site at:

    http://www.divelabs.com

These demonstrations include:

     DUCKY     translucent water effects and wave motion
     BROWSER   a VRML Browser supporting Virtual I/O i-glasses
     FIRE      real-time texture map manipulation (not animation) 
               simulating fire

Other demonstrations will be available soon including:

     a demonstration of hierarchies incuding scheduled behaviors
     network demonstration
     materials demonstration

A shareware version of Amber for WindowsNT is available from:

A shareware version of the Windows 3.1/95 product will be available in 
the next 14 days.  

Shareware versions of Amber are licensed for trial use for
non-commercial and evaluation purposes only.  Applications built with
Amber shareware versions may not be distributed for resale.  The
shareware libraries are fully operational development libraries, but
have certain limitations on polygon count, object numbers, and other
capabilities.

For those of you who don't know, Amber is a C++ class library for
developing shared virtual environments, 3D web servers and clients,
data visualization applications, and more.  Amber includes:

        - Support for multiple rendering systems (OpenGL, 3DR, CGL, 
          others to be announced)  
        - Platform independent application development
        - Multi-level behavior control and behavior scheduling
        - True object oriented programming in C++
        - Support for low cost VR peripherals including i-glasses, 
          General Reality CyberTrack, and CyberGlove.  More to come!
        - Integrated MIDI/.WAV support (Windows platforms only)
        - Networking with TCP/IP
        - read/write .WRL (VRML) and .NFF files.  More formats to come!
        - Integrated with Visual C++ and Microsoft Foundation Classes
        - Royalty free end user application development

Additionally, we are now shipping a version of Amber for WindowsNT
which is compiled for the DEC Alpha processor.  This product is
available and shipping now.
