I have been lurking on this newsgroup for many months now. I now have
several questions to ask.

My name is Marcia Talkmitt and I am working on VR in the classroom.
My project is funded by the Christa McAuliffe Fellowship for the state
of Texas. Any educator, industry leader, or individual is welcome for
discussion with me on VR and its implications in education ---
specifically Science and Math. When I get my machines and operations
up and running, I will have a web and gopher site.

I have 2 Dell Dimension 5133 with 256 cache coming my way soon. Each
of these machines will have 32 MB RAM, ACS31 speakers with
sub-woofers, Creative Labs 32 bit Sound blaster, 6X CD ROMs, CTX P17
Monitors (.26mm dot pitch), Number Nine Imagine video board with 4 MB
VRAM, DOS 6.2, and Windows 3.1 (I'm not brave enough to run Windows 95
yet...maybe Windows NT).

My 3D projection system has a resolution of 640 X 480...I do know that
the higher the resolution, the better the picture.... What does that
mean in the simplest terms? I also want to try some Quicktime
VR....I've been told that I need to get a 35 mm camera and get the
developing into a photo CD.... Would a photo scanner work as well to
get prints into the computer?....Can you get several rolls of film
into the developing on one CD? Would a video camera with a 12:1 zoom
factor work just as well? Would you suggest getting Creative Labs
Video Blaster into the systems rather than the expense of a camera and
the developing? What is the resolution there?

My brother and I will be traveling to the San Francisco Bay area
October 11-15 for the purpose of visiting software and various other
VR related wares. Are there certain things that anyone would suggest
seeing there? How can I make contact with NASA Ames to see their VR
projects?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and if you can help e-mail me
soon.
