I thought this might be of interest to all of yews out there.

I found a prototype wireless polhemus system that was under development by
a Japanese company displaying at Siggraph...

3SPACE WIRELESS

By inserting this device between controller and receiver, the system can
receive signals within a 3m area with out modifiying 3space circuits.

Bob comment---> :) This is basically a little black box that has a polhemus
plastic node on one end and an antenna on the other.  It transmitts to a
reciever hooked to the standard Polhemus box.

The one I saw was not operating.  They said it was a prototype.  They said
it was in use and selling in Japan.  They said they were having trouble on
the license to sell and ship to the US but they were working on it.

The cost for one unit is $10,000.

That is only one Polhemus node.   You must supply the Polhemus box.
